Central Philippine Union Conference Ecclesiastically Dissolved: Paving Way to Organization of Two Unions

News November 20, 2025

TALISAY CITY, Cebu, Nov. 20, 2025—In a decisive and historic moment, the Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC) officially ceased to exist this morning, paving the way for the establishment of two new administrative entities: the East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC) and the West Central Philippine Union Mission (WCPUM).

At precisely 9:18 a.m., on Nov. 20, 2025, the dissolution of the CPUC was formally declared by Pastor Roger Caderma, president of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD).

This declaration took place during the morning meeting on the second day of the CPUC Reorganization and 60th Anniversary celebration held at Adventist Academy Cebu, in Bulacao, Talisay City, Cebu.

The proceedings were presided over by the outgoing CPUC administrators: President Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., alongside Executive Secretary Pastor Calev Maquirang, and Treasurer Pastor Renito Inapan.

The solemn moment was witnessed by registered delegates from all constituent missions and conferences across the CPUC territory, who now look forward to forming the two new unions.

SSD representatives were also present to witness the administrative act.

The dissolution now immediately initiates the two separate, inaugural constituency meetings, where delegates will elect the first set of leaders for the new unions, formally launching the next chapter of the church’s mission in the Central Philippines.
