The Moral Recovery Program through Happy Family and Hope Seminar, which the Central Cebu District Association of Churches has organized, kicked off tonight.
The seminar featured Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., president of the Central Philippine Union Conference, as the nightly speaker.
His nightly topics, from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4, 2025, will elaborate on the factors affecting joy, stability, and peace within the family. As the seminar goes on, he will unravel secrets to a happy and united family, unlocking the keys to a fulfilling and happy home.
The event, held at the Banilad Multipurpose Gymnasium in Mandaue City, drew a large attendance of both believers and non-Adventist guests. Streamed live by the Canduman Seventh-day Adventist Church and crossposted by several multimedia channels across the Central Visayan Conference, it also attracted over a thousand active online viewers and commenters.
This evangelism initiative was organized by the Central Cebu District Association of Churches under the leadership of Ranel Hijapon, district president, and with the pastoral care provided by Pastor Jemwin Colegado.
The churches under the Central Cebu District also collaborated to reach a common goal—to take part in the ministry and bring God’s children who are still outside the fold to His feet.
In tonight’s opening, Pastor Barlizo explored the theme “Christ in Times of Crisis.” He spoke directly to the heart, emphasizing that for anyone weighed down by life’s burdens, trapped in a chaotic home, or faced with betrayals, Jesus is the answer—the true source of abundant joy and peace.
He drew lessons from the life of Nebuchadnezzar, illustrating that despite his immense material wealth and fame, everything was ultimately stripped away from him. This parallel highlights that a life devoid of Christ is meaningless. Nevertheless, Jesus offers hope, fill the void of loneliness, and mend broken homes. He has the power to transform lives.
“When we experience health crisis, financial crisis, relationship crisis —whatever crisis that we are facing—just remember Christ. He is the only solution to all our crises in life. Do not be discouraged, do not be afraid, I will be with you all the way,” Barlizo added.
As the opening night concluded, Hijapon expressed gratitude to all brethren who supported, hoping that the spirit of unity, collaboration, and support would continue even after the event.
