NEMAC District Concludes Recovery Seminar, Welcomes 27 New Members

News July 15, 2025

MILAGROS, MASBATE – The Northeastern Masbate Association of Churches (NEMAC) District recently concluded a “Health, Family, Moral, and Spiritual Recovery Seminar,” culminating in the baptism of 27 individuals.

The event, held from July 3 to July 12, 2025, focused on the theme, “Jesus is the Hope in Times of Crisis!” It was also one of the simultaneous evangelistic efforts conducted by the district pastors across the Central Visayan Conference for the Pastors’ Evangelism Week.

The seminar, conducted by Pastor Roberto M. Gedaro, NEMAC District pastor, took place nightly at Purok Caimito 1, Paraiso, Milagros, Masbate.

For nine days, attendees participated in sessions designed to promote holistic recovery and spiritual renewal.

“My wife and I are happy to work together in preaching the Gospel of salvation to help prepare God’s people for His soon return,” Gedaro shared after being asked what inspired him to do continuous evangelistic meetings.

“I’m encouraging everyone to continue the work of the Lord because the end is very near,” he added.

The highlight of this district’s activities was the baptism ceremony, which took place on July 12, 2025. Twenty-seven individuals were baptized at Winter’s Farm Resort in Cayabon, Milagros, Masbate.

Dante Pateño, one of the newly converted members, said, “We are happy to learn and understand the doctrines in the Bible that we heard during the Bible seminar, especially regarding the Sabbath, the law, and food. I hope many people will come to know the Scripture just like us.”

In an interview, Pastor Gedaro also shared his plan for nurturing these new members and keeping them in church. The area is far from the nearest Adventist church and, previously, an unentered area until this recent evangelism that invited 27 to Jesus’ feet.

“We will start our home division worship in one of their homes this week. On Wednesday evening, Friday evening, and the Sabbath day, my wife and I, along with a few of our brethren, will go there to worship with them and continue our nurturing program and Bible study.”

The success of the seminar and baptism display NEMAC District’s commitment to community evangelism. More efforts are underway for the harvest while the churches continue to uplift one another and encourage everyone to participate in the ministry.
