Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City (May 31, 2025)– Women from the Mactan-Olango Island Soul-Saving Association gathered Saturday for the second Women’s Fellowship of the year 2025, at the Canjulao Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Lapu-Lapu City.

The event highlighted the women’s enduring strength, leadership, and camaraderie, displayed in an atmosphere of shared learning and spiritual growth.

The fellowship began with enthusiastic reports from delegates who recently attended the Central Philippine Union Conference-wide Women’s Convention in Tagbilaran, Bohol, from May 7-10, 2025.

They shared valuable insights and lessons learned, recounted enjoyable moments from their tour of the iconic sites of Bohol, and expressed the profound joy they experienced through fellowship with other women across the conference.

Throughout the program, the women showed their talents and strong leadership capabilities. Their endowed strengths were evident in every aspect of the event, from the lively song renditions and engaging discussions during the Sabbath School lesson to powerful testimonies and inspiring messages.

A key aspect of the fellowship was the divine hour, which featured guest speaker Marilyn Lucero, a staff member from the communication department of the CPUC.

She delivered a message focusing on the roles of two significant women leaders in the Bible: Miriam and Zipporah. Lucero emphasized their remarkable strengths and resilience during times of affliction, presenting them as powerful examples for women to draw upon in their own struggles and painful journeys.

However, Lucero also candidly addressed Miriam’s weaknesses, noting that despite her honor as a leader of Israel alongside her brothers Moses and Aaron, these flaws ultimately led to her downfall.

Lucero stressed the dangers of pride and the greedy desire for self-praise, illustrating how these very weaknesses, which also caused discord in heaven, can lead to personal setbacks.

The empowering day culminated in an act of community service, as the women distributed “bundles of joy” to selected recipients in neighboring communities.

Following this, the women engaged in a constructive discussion, dedicating time to strategize and plan for the betterment of their organization.

Loidelyn Dignos, the president of MOISSA’s Women’s Ministries, officiated the planning under the supervision of Jerly M. Abao, their adviser. She is the wife of Pastor Ronald Abao, the district pastor who oversees the 12 churches under MOISSA.
