Tagbilaran, Bohol (May 7, 2025) — Under the theme “Made to Flourish,” the Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC)-wide Women’s Ministries Convention officially began tonight in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
The four-day event, hosted at the Bohol Tropics Resort, will feature a series of plenaries and interactive sessions focusing on empowering women for ministry leadership. This convention will conclude on May 10, 2024.
The event opened with a lively grand parade featuring more than 500 delegates. Adorned in colorful and stylish Filipiniana attire, the delegates marched forward, representing their respective missions and conferences, and identified by a banner leading their procession.
Furthermore, the opening night’s program featured Mrs. Melodie Mae K. Inapan, the Adventist children and family ministries director and ministerial spouses association coordinator for the CPUC, as the keynote speaker.
Inapan’s address centered on the convention’s theme, “Made to Flourish,” emphasizing women’s distinct qualities and potential.
She elaborated on the transformative power of motivated women in service to God, sharing her personal journey of overcoming demotivation to embracing leadership, a path guided by God’s plans for her life.
Drawing on Author Lisa Bevere’s powerful assertion that a woman becomes “dangerous to the enemy” upon realizing her worth in God, Mrs. Inapan delved into the profound implications of this truth.
She elaborated on Bevere’s words, stating: “Once a woman recognizes her worth in God, she becomes unstoppable. She becomes a threat to darkness and lies. She can no longer be deceived because she stops believing lies.”
She further explained that women are no longer vulnerable to falsehoods and cease to believe the insidious lies that whisper, ‘She can’t be enough.’
Expanding on this concept, Inapan also drew a compelling analogy, likening a woman to a seed. Despite its tiny size, a seed is connected to the source of life, enabling it to flourish.
Similarly, Mrs. Inapan emphasized that a woman thrives when she remains rooted in God, the ultimate source of her power and strength.
“And just like a tiny seed,” Inapan added, “a woman carries within her the potential, the very ‘DNA,’ to cultivate an entire forest of impact and influence.”
Following the keynote address, the delegates were treated to a vibrant cultural presentation. Through folk dances, the presentations offered glimpses into the diverse cultures and lifestyles of the delegates’ home regions, sharing unique histories and traditions.
The cultural showcase added a lively and memorable dimension to the evening, highlighting the enthusiasm, unity, and collaborative spirit of all the delegates in attendance.
