The Adventist Possibility Ministries (APM) of the Negros Occidental Conference launched a church-school-based APM on March 15, 2025. The launching took place at the Negros Occidental Conference Worship Hall under the leadership of Mrs. Jerelyn Orquesta, the NOC education director.
This ministry collaborates with the Adventist Education Department to support students and church members with special needs, particularly those facing physical, emotional, and mental challenges.
With the motto “All are gifted, needed, and treasured,” Miss Ana Liza V. Facon, the CPUC associate education director, explained the history, mission, and objectives of the Adventist Possibility Ministries.
“We need the Holy Spirit to recharge ourselves. We need the Lord. When guided by the Holy Spirit, we can better cater to these individuals,” said guest speaker Dr. Irelyn Gabin, Southern Asia Pacific Division APM director, during her lecture. She emphasized that every person has inherent value and dignity, regardless of their abilities, as each individual possesses unique strengths, talents, and potential.
Educators from the 19 NOC church schools attended this program and were reoriented about their essential responsibilities as APM educators and their connection to the school.
“I am happy that the Department of Education initiated this program for our teachers because we want them to understand their role in APM. It is undeniable that we have children with special needs in our classrooms, and they face different challenges every day. We believe that God has entrusted this responsibility to them, and we need to empower our teachers further,” Mrs. Orquesta expressed during her interview.
The educators took an opportunity to visit the KIDS’ Delightful Ground Foundation Inc., an Adventist orphanage in Negros Occidental. The administrators organized a warm welcome program for them in appreciation of their visit. At the same time, the educators also provided gifts and snacks to the children.
The foundation’s administrators and the kids expressed gratitude for the APM team’s and NOC educators’ visit. “Let us continue this initiative. Success is not a goal; it is an experience. The Lord is pleased to see His children growing and thriving. We are collaborating to glorify the Lord,” Dr. Gabin added.
