Adventist Academy Cebu Pathfinder Club Holds Pass in Review and Investiture Ceremony

Cebu City, Philippines – March 25, 2025 – The Pathfinder Club of Adventist Academy Cebu held a memorable Pass in Review and Investiture Ceremony on March 25, 2025, on the school’s campus.

This event celebrated the dedication and growth of its Junior High School students.

The morning began with the highly anticipated Pass in Review, during which students arrived early, dressed in smart uniforms and ready to showcase their disciplined march across the field.

Excitement was palpable as each unit proudly saluted their flag while the Pathfinder Club Director, Master Guide Sherrimay Javier, called their names. Observing from the sidelines were PC Director Roy Tac-an, PC Director Pastor Romer Ando, and the Junior High School faculty, beaming with pride.

The event was led by Battalion Commander Aiken Elson Mariano, a Grade 10 student, accompanied by his fellow commanders, showcasing the strength and unity of the club.

In the afternoon, attention turned to the Investiture Ceremony held at the Adventist Academy Cebu International Church. The event was honored by the presence of Master Guide Lemuel G. Banday, who delivered an inspiring message as the guest speaker.

Master Guide Banday serves as the education director for the Central Philippine Union Conference.

He emphasized the importance of faithfulness in the small things, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of David. His speech encouraged the Pathfinders to be diligent in their duties, as character is developed through the small tasks that lay the foundation for larger responsibilities.

The event featured a pinning ceremony celebrating the Pathfinders’ commitment and growth, marking the culmination of their hard work.The pinning began with the Explorer Class and continued through the Ranger, Voyager, and Guide Classes, recognizing each group for their dedication throughout their Pathfinder’s journey.  

The pin symbolized both achievement and the responsibility to uphold the values learned in the Pathfinder program.

A special moment in the ceremony was the presentation of the Pathfinder Excellence Award Pin executed by Master Guide Banday.This prestigious award was given to five outstanding Pathfinders for their exemplary leadership and dedication.

The recipients were Elson Aiken Mariano, battalion commander; Rhian Jeuel Casinillo, cadet club officer; Kylle Emmanuel Moncada, cadet club officer; Judeane Buque, cadet club officer; and Berylle Joy Julian, band leader.

Battalion Commander Mariano expressed that the pinning ceremony added a special touch to the occasion, making it a truly memorable experience.

He highlighted the joy and happiness that followed, noting that the event left a lasting positive impact on all participants. “The ceremony not only marked an achievement but also reinforced our values for personal growth and faith,” Mariano said.

Rhian Jeuel Casinillo, one of the Cadet Club Officers, shared her thoughts on the event, stating that the Investiture Ceremony underscored the importance of faith, courage, and dedication. “Without these three, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my goals,” she reflected. She also took away a key message from the guest speaker, noting, “Success starts by following simple instructions.”

As the ceremony concluded, the Pathfinders stepped out of the chapel with hearts full of joy and a renewed sense of purpose. The day’s events were a reminder of the power of faithfulness, discipline, love, and obedience in shaping strong individuals and faithful servants.

For the young pathfinders, the lessons of this significant day will continue to shape their path, inspiring them towards excellence and dedication in all their pursuits.

    Glory be to God for the wonderful presentation much more for the message of encouragement that true leadership needs the guidance and of the Holy Spirit and to embed honesty, obedience and trust in God. Congratulations AAC Pathfinder club leadership and students for the great job!
