ST. LOUIS, USA (June 8, 2025) ‒ Adventist News Network (ANN) and several other news sites announce that Pastor Roger O. Caderma has been re-elected to serve another term as the president of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
His re-election was part of a larger slate of division presidents confirmed during the 62nd General Conference Session held in St. Louis, USA, on July 7, 2025.
The collective proposal for all 13 division presidents received strong support from the global church delegates.
Pastor Caderma’s continued leadership comes after his initial election as SSD president on June 20, 2022, during the 61st General Conference Session. He succeeded Elder Saw Samuel, who transitioned to an Associate Secretary role at the General Conference.
Pastor Caderma brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role, having ministered since 1988. Since then, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to the Seventh-day Adventist Church through various capacities, including serving as a district pastor, church pastor, and department director.
His leadership journey further evolved through his presidencies at both the Southern Mindanao Mission and the South Philippine Union Conference, culminating in his prior role as vice president of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division for NDR-IEL.
Academically, Pastor Caderma pursued theology at Mountain View College in the Philippines, graduating in 1984. He furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Adventist International Institute for Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in 1999.
In 2005, he received his certificate as a Trust Services and Planned Giving officer from Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.
Pastor Caderma is married to Danita, and together, they are actively involved in serving the church.
His leadership has been recognized for his commitment to evangelism and his ability to inspire church members towardsthe mission of the church. He is known for being kind-hearted, forthright, and principled.
During a live chat today, hosts Edward Rodriguez, SSD assistant communication director; Pastor Felixian Felicitas, SSD field secretary; and Pastor Heshbon Buscato, SSD communication director, discussed the appointment of Caderma and his accomplishments since he took office in 2022.
“I have never seen a leader like him who could never sleeps, just thinking of ways to make the mission a reality in every church,” Buscato said, expressing his appreciation for Caderma’s tireless leadership.
Felicitas also explained how a leader is nominated and elected, as well as what Caderma’s presidency in one of the 13 divisions of SSD means. “The president of a division also serves as a vice president in the General Conference for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.”
The Central Philippine Union Conference embraces this news with profound joy, extending heartfelt prayers that divine wisdom will continually guide him as he faithfully leads the church.
