Mactan Island (December 10, 2024)—During this morning’s gift-giving event, over a hundred individuals from 12 churches across the Mactan-Olango Island Association of Churches received giveaways.

The event was organized by the ReACH (Reaching All for Christ) Care Group, one of the care groups under the Central Philippine Union Conference.

ReACH Care Group, comprised of an administrator, directors, and staff, including CPUC staff member Jerly Abao as the group leader, demonstrated the spirit of giving this holiday season by sharing their blessings with the community.

Pastor Ronald Abao, the MOISA district pastor, facilitated the systematic gathering of recipients for this special occasion, ensuring all churches are represented.

Prior to the distribution of gifts, a short program was held featuring Dr. Lemuel Banday, CPUC education director, as the speaker.

Dr. Banday emphasized the beauty of sharing one’s blessings, regardless of time or season, a message that resonated deeply with the ReACH Care Group and inspired their act of generosity.

The recipients expressed their gratitude for the unexpected blessings. Most of them verbalized how surprised they were to be the receivers of the gifts since activities like this are often dedicated to community outreach programs.

One recipient shared, “We are so thankful for this blessing. It’s not only our tummy that will be full in this blessing but our hearts as well.”

Another added with hope, “May we receive more blessings from ReACH Care Group next year,” earning laughter from the audience.

Pastor Eliezer ‘Joer’ Barlizo, the CPUC president, thanked ReACH Care Group, and the rest of the CPUC care groups who are still waiting for appointed dates for distribution, for their dedication to community service. “It feels fulfilling to share our blessings from above. We feel as happy as those who receive our gifts. May this gift-giving continue, not just next year but until Jesus comes.”

The event culminated in highlighting the spirit of giving and the positive impact that organizations like ReACH Care Group have on the lives of those in need.
