Negros Occidental Conference culminated its 63rd anniversary celebration by welcoming 300 individuals who chose to accept Jesus through baptism in the afternoon of May 17, 2025.
The significant two-day celebration, held at Central Philippine Adventist College (CPAC) from May 16-17, 2025, brought together the 41 districts of the NOC.
Nearly 10,000 attendees gathered at the CPAC campus, transforming it into a lively area filled with tents and hammocks. The festivities began with a grand parade featuring more than a hundred vehicles, which made their way from the NOC headquarters on C.V. Ramos Avenue in Taculing, Bacolod City, to the CPAC in Alegria, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The anniversary theme, "Called to be Faithful, Forward in Hope," was reflected throughout the event's activities and messages.
Pastor Jophone Galanza, the NOC president, officially opened the program, leading a symbolic flag-raising ceremony for each district. He reflected on the conference's 63-year journey, acknowledging God's faithfulness and the contributions of past leaders.
"We have witnessed the goodness of God through our leaders from the foundation of this conference until now. Let us thank God for His goodness and faithfulness, and for making us a part of His church," Pastor Galanza exclaimed, marking his address with a gesture of victory and gratitude by releasing balloons into the sky.
On the other hand, Pastor Rene Inapan, treasurer of the Central Philippine Union Conference, also delivered an inspiring devotional message, urging the congregation to "Stay faithful, stay united, stay hopeful, because He who called you is faithful."
Beyond the spiritual nourishment, attendees shared joyful moments, including sumptuous meals and delicious anniversary cakes provided by the school.
During the Sabbath School program, pioneers from the Ilog Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Kabankalan SDA Central Church were interviewed. They shared their past experiences, recounting how their churches have grown and how God has blessed these congregations, which have stood firm for over a century.
Recently, the Kabankalan Church celebrated its 100th anniversary, while the Ilog Church marked 103 years. These churches and others that have reached 63 years and beyond were recognized and presented with certificates.
Another celebration highlight was the ordination of five district leaders, who were welcomed into the ministry by Pastor James Rubrico, CPUC ministerial director, and Mrs. Melodie Mae Inapan, the Adventist children and family ministries director and ministerial spouses association coordinator for the CPUC.
In a social media post, Pastor Sherwin Aguilar expressed his gratitude for being one of the ordained ministers.
"Before this day ends, I would like to give all glory and honor to our Almighty God. I thank the Lord for all the blessings He has bestowed upon me—for His wondrous grace that continues to abound until today," Aguilar said.
He also thanked the Lord for calling him to this sacred responsibility as an ordained minister of the church. "Truly, Your calling is a gift of divine grace and mercy."
During the service, some attendees described their emotions as reflecting the worship experience in heaven, especially when the church sang the anniversary theme song, "Find Us Faithful."
Furthermore, Pastor Joer Barlizo, the CPUC president, inspired the congregation during his divine service, encouraging the youth, parents, and all church members to actively engage in ministry.
The anniversary celebration culminated in the baptism of 301 souls at the CPAC swimming pool, another indication of the Negros Occidental Conference's continuous growth since its establishment in 1962.
This significant milestone showed the dedication and commitment of NOC constituents in the ministry. It remains deeply grateful for the legacy of faith passed down by pioneers and missionaries, which continues to inspire each generation to fulfill its mission.
Furthermore, the conference is committed to remaining faithful servants, refocusing on the Great Commission and standing firm on this solid foundation.
