A week-long seminar titled "The Moral Compass: Navigating Life and Business with Biblical Principles" is now ongoing at Goldberry Suites & Hotel on Escario Street.

The Capitol Seventh-day Adventist Church organized this event to help people find clarity and purpose in a world where moral issues can be confusing.

Held from May 18 to 24, 2025, this meeting has brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, families, and faith-driven individuals committed to aligning their lives and careers with biblical values.

The seminar also focuses on a holistic approach that combines physical health, ethical leadership, and spiritual development.

Dr. Hadassah Espenido, joined by her mother, Mrs. Sheila Espenido, leads the health segment. Their lectures empower attendees to take charge of their physical and mental health through natural remedies, preventive care, and biblically grounded stewardship principles over the body.

Each night begins with a prayer and continues with health lectures that lead to discussions on various topics. These include managing stress, disease prevention, and biblical perspectives on nutrition and rest.

Dr. Hadassah's medical expertise, combined with Sheila's practical lifestyle guidance, makes health both accessible and deeply rooted in faith.

On the fourth night, Sheila Espenido discussed the importance of vegetarianism. She offered advice on spending less in response to claims that vegetables are expensive.

"Select vegetables that can be grown in our backyards. Read cookbooks and search online for various ways to prepare vegetables. Remember, the eyes are hungrier than the stomach," she said. This statement received enthusiastic "wows" of approval from the audience.

After the health lectures, retired PLTCOL Jovie R. Espenido, MPA, and guest speaker, takes over to deliver powerful keynote addresses. Known for his commitment to integrity and justice, Espenido captivates the audience with his bold messages.

Drawing from both scripture and his years of experience in law enforcement, Colonel Espenido delivers thought-provoking messages on moral courage, ethical leadership, and the indispensable role of righteousness in personal life and business practices.

His sessions challenge attendees to reflect on the direction of their lives and the values guiding their decisions. With a commanding yet compassionate presence, he urges listeners to allow the Bible to serve as their moral compass in a world driven by compromise.

In one of his messages, Jovie Espenido presented the biblical and scientific perspectives on alcohol consumption, humorously illustrating the behaviors of an intoxicated person, which amused the audience.

He quoted Isaiah 5:11, allowing the audience to read together: "Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks and stay up late at night until they are inflamed with wine."

The nightly sessions conclude with a commitment ceremony inviting participants to make personal pledges to live and lead with integrity, compassion, and faith. Many testify that the seminar revitalizes their spiritual walk and equips them with practical tools for decision-making, relationship-building, and professional integrity.

For the attendees, "The Moral Compass" seminar is more than a series of lectures—it is a spiritual revival, a health awakening, and a leadership summit all in one.

The passionate service of the Espenido family leaves a lasting impression on every attendee, proving that with biblical principles as our compass, both life and business can be navigated with clarity, purpose, and peace.
