The 8th Homecoming Philippine Adventist Missionaries Conference, themed “Get Involved in His Name” (1 Samuel 17:45), was held Dec. 4-7, 2024, at Adventours in Miagao, Iloilo. This annual gathering brought together missionaries to equip, inspire, and unite them in their shared mission of spreading the gospel.

The conference focused on enhancing missionaries’ skills and spiritual growth. Participants attended workshops, seminars, and devotionals designed to deepen their understanding of evangelism, leadership, and community outreach.

Health Ministry Training

Key sessions included health ministry training, with topics such as “Planning Your Health Ministry” and “How to Conduct a Health Expo.” These sessions, conducted by Pastor Rey Portugalete, WVC health director, and Pastor Arnel Riano, focused on practical skills like conducting health surveys and assessments.

Theological Enrichment

Theological enrichment sessions delved into Adventist doctrines, with topics like “Hermeneutics on the Writings of Ellen White” by Pastor Jemar Rondina, “The Nature of Revelation by Inspiration” by Pastor Jared Casuncad, and “Ellen White and Her Critics” by Pastor Romel Alferes.

Additionally, practical workshops on evangelism techniques, such as “How to Conduct Bible Study” and “The Art of Getting Decisions,” led by Pastors Sandy Tacapan, Julius Dalman, and Timothy Sorrento, equipped attendees with skills to enhance outreach effectiveness.

Devotional Renewal

The “Back to the Altar” series by Mrs. Jean Estrebilla, WVC Women’s Ministries director, inspired spiritual revival and commitment.

A key feature of the conference was the opportunity to earn Medical Missionary Certification after completing four years of continuous training. This certification equips missionaries to serve communities with essential medical care, reflecting the holistic mission of the Adventist Church.

Special guests, including Bro. Randy Payan and Dr. Diego Sausa enriched the event, while Pastor Kerry Estrebilla, WVC president, and other conference leaders shared their wisdom and experience.

This conference reaffirmed the importance of prayer, connection, and dedication in missionary work. Attendees left equipped and inspired, ready to continue sharing God’s love.

The 8th Homecoming Philippine Adventist Missionaries Conference underscored the theme of being fully involved in His name and highlighted the power of faith and unity in advancing God’s work.
