News May 28, 2025

Five individuals joined the Adventist faith during the culmination of the evangelistic seminar organized by the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries and Adventist Professionals (ASI-Ad Pro) on May 23, 2025.

The six-day evangelistic crusade, held from May 18 to May 23, 2025, took place at Barangay Langub and was supported by church members across the North Island Cebu District (NICD).

Pastor Rolando Alcanzare, NICD district pastor, delivered the nightly gospel messages. His discussions centered on the theme “Tinubdan sa Paglaum” (Source of Hope).

His messages conveyed the hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ in a concise, clear, and compelling manner. It moved attendees, inspiring many hearts to seek the Savior more earnestly.

Complementing the spiritual messages was a health lecture series by Reachly Alcanzare. She explored the benefits of the NEWSTART lifestyle principles: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust in God.

Reachly Alcanzare emphasized how this holistic approach promotes healing and wellness, even for those suffering from chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, kidney failure, and cancer. Her insights provided not only medical and lifestyle guidance but also spiritual encouragement.

Mae Osabel, the current ADPRO president, and Rolando Villacarlos, the ASI president, organized the nightly programs. Their tandem leadership ensured that each evening was meaningful and well-coordinated, creating a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for all attendees.

The event received full support from the six churches of the North Island Cebu District (NICD). Members participated substantially, promoting an atmosphere of unity, joy, and revival. Their presence showed the power of cooperative ministry in spreading the gospel.

The event’s organizers ensured that even children would have a special session in the nightly program. Rowie Maru and Michaela Mae Claire Paceno held the children’s ministry class, impressing their young minds with spiritual enrichment through stories, songs of praise, and memory verses.

The event reached its peak in the baptism of five precious souls on Sabbath afternoon, officiated by Pastor Eugine Jabagat. It was a moment of joy and spiritual victory as these new believers publicly committed their lives to Christ.

As the evangelistic effort came to an end, Pastor Alcanzare shared a powerful reminder: “God is at work in the lives of people who should be used for His purpose. Indeed, this six-day crusade at Barangay Langub served as a living testament to this truth: when God’s people come together, great things happen for His glory.”
