News July 16, 2025

Ayungon, Negros Oriental – A week-long evangelistic seminar held in Barangay Mabato, Ayungon, from July 6-12, 2025, concluded with a significant spiritual harvest, as 20 individuals publicly declared their faith through baptism.

The seminar, conducted by Pastor Fernando Narciso, vice-president of the Central Philippine Union Conference for the Integrative Evangelism Lifestyle – Nurturing, Discipleship, and Retention (IEL-NDR, consistently drew an attendance of over 50 non-Adventists each night.

In addition, other attendees represented various Christian denominations, predominantly Catholic, Born-Again Christian, and UCCP (United Church of Christ in the Philippines) communities in the area.

Narciso shared how challenging the evangelistic effort was due to the heavy rain almost every night. Yet, the attendees continued to attend.

“We could only be amazed at how God turned inconveniences into blessings. Barangay officials were also attending to guard us,” he said, recounting some of the challenges they met along the way. “By God’s grace, the evangelistic effort was completed successfully. To Him be the glory!”

He expressed appreciation of the support he received from a dedicated team consisting of three laypersons: Ryan Belinario, Kyle Miranda, and his wife. Additionally, he was also accompanied by Pastor Jonathan Nombre, the district pastor of District 6 of the Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission (NSM), along with his wife, Maiden Nombre.

Their combined efforts, with God’s blessings and guidance, contributed to the success of the spiritual outreach.

The impactful messages delivered throughout the week reached the hearts of the attendees, culminating in the decision of 20 individuals to start a new journey with God through baptism.

The 20 new members of the church will be cared for and nurtured by the brethren of District 6 in Mabinay.
