Daculan, a community in Estancia, Iloilo, has recently experienced a remarkable spiritual transformation, marked by the baptism of 39 individuals.
This surge in baptism followed a series of nightly evangelistic meetings themed “End Time Message from Jesus,” indicating a profound impact on the local populace.
Atty. Christian H. Abenir, the human resources, legal, and trust services director for the Central Philippine Union Conference, conducted the event. This event pushed through under the support and leadership of Pastor Jared Casuncad, the district leader of Northern Iloilo 1 District; Pastor Julius Dalman, district leader of Estancia Central Church, and the members of the four assigned churches within the district.
Before the event, churches in the Northern Iloilo 1 District began planting seeds of hope in the area. Two satellite evangelistic campaigns were conducted earlier, specifically in February and the first week of March. As a result, the people’s hearts had already started to open up to the gospel message.
The evangelistic effort held in Daculan provided moments of reflection and spiritual awakening. It began each evening with a children’s class, followed by a health lecture, both facilitated by members of the Daculan Church.
Moreover, the nightly main topics, which focus on the “End Time Message from Jesus,” appear to have resonated deeply with the community, leading to a substantial number of individuals committing to their faith through baptism.
On the culmination Sabbath, Pastor Mariano Salloman Jr., stewardship director for the CPUC, and Pastor Germenegildo “Bong” Gonzaga, conducted the baptism.
When asked about plans to retain these new members in the church, Pastor Casuncad stated, “If the church members embrace them and act as their spiritual guardians, these precious individuals will flourish in faith.”
“Nevertheless, as leaders, we will keep encouraging our church members to share the responsibility and maintain a sense of accountability in nurturing these new family members.”
