Tagbilaran City, Bohol – May 8, 2025 — Following an inspiring opening, the second day of the CPUC-wide Women’s Ministries Convention offered delegates a memorable tour of Bohol’s natural wonders.
Instead of formal sessions, the day was dedicated to exploration, with attendees embarking on a journey to some of the island’s most iconic destinations.
The day’s itinerary included visits to the majestic Chocolate Hills, where more than a thousand unique geological formations provided a breathtaking panoramic view.
The second destination was an opportunity for Tarsier Watching, allowing the delegates to observe the Philippines’ charming and tiny primates in their habitat.
Next was a serene view of the man-made forest and a tranquil escape to the incredible outcome of reforestation efforts.
Another highlight was the unforgettable experience at the Xzootic Animal Park and the butterfly sanctuary, where various delicate butterfly species and other creatures were fully displayed.
The women then took the Loboc River Cruise during lunchtime, enjoying its unique and enchanting experience on a floating restaurant.
In addition to the picturesque river cruise, the women enjoyed buffet dining and cultural entertainment. Those interested got to enjoy “Tinikling,” an iconic Philippine folk dance known for its incredible agility, rhythm, and the distinctive clicking sound of two long bamboo poles.
Dancers hop and leap gracefully between and over the moving bamboo poles. They have to be incredibly precise and quick to avoid getting their feet caught as the poles clap together.
Their last destination was at the famous Sikatuna Mirror of the World. It’s a place that makes one feel like you’re exploring different parts of the world in one visit.
The see-the-world-in-one-place tour site features mini versions of famous landmarks from around the globe, like the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the carved faces of four presidents in Mt. Rushmore, USA, and many others.
The convention’s program provided a refreshing opportunity for fellowship and connection amidst Bohol’s stunning backdrop.
The excursions fostered camaraderie and allowed the women to appreciate the intricate beauty of God’s creation tangibly, beautifully complementing the convention’s theme of flourishing.
The shared experiences of discovering these natural treasures undoubtedly created lasting memories and a renewed sense of wonder among the attendees. The convention is set to continue with enriching programs in the following days until its culmination on May 10.
