Hope Channel Central Philippines hosted a reinforcement series for media personnel, volunteers, and communication directors from the missions and conferences under the Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC).
The event, themed “Accelerating Mission, Empowering Media,” took place on September 17-18, 2025, at its headquarters on Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.
Designed to enhance the shared mission of the Hope Channel, the program focused on reemphasizing the mission, developing strategies, and empowering participants.
The series also aligned media ministries and equipped teams with practical skills to effectively reach audiences for Christ.
The event featured presentations from Hope Channel leaders under the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, whose leadership and expertise have contributed to the development of Hope Channel programs.
Pastor Michael Palar, the SSD Hope Channel Coordinator, emphasized the commitments that communication leaders must make. “Guard against deception by teaching digital literacy at home, strengthening official communication channels, and rooting all communication in Scripture.”
He also deeply encouraged the communicators to utilize media as a means of spreading the message and to make the Hope Channel brand shine. Additionally, they should be models of spiritual discipline, living with integrity and simplicity.
Moreover, Pastor Sherman Fiedacan, president of Hope Channel Philippines, also emphasized the importance of excellence in clear programs, sound theology, creative content, and a Christlike spirit.
He stated, “Every broadcast is a part of fulfilling the great commission. Every worker, volunteer, producer, editor, and host must keep the mission as their compass.”
On the other hand, Anthony Stanley, SSD Media Manager, discussed the interconnection between Adventist identity and Hope Channel branding in one of his lectures.
“Production value isn’t a magical, subjective feeling. It’s a strategic, quantifiable blueprint,” Stanyer stressed.
He also delved into the importance of intentional scriptwriting by starting with relatable life issues and then connecting them to the gospel.
All leaders mentioned above believed that the commitment and involvement of attendees were vital to advancing God’s mission through media.
As they all emphasized, Hope Channel is not just a television; it is a missionary pulpit to the world, and our goal is to prepare people for the second coming of Jesus.
“God has positioned Hope Channel as a beacon of light. Every video, interview, and setup is a seed of faith; though unseen, the harvest is sure. Galatians 6:9 reminds us: Your work matters, your voice matters. Keep planting,” Pastor Bernandino Maniego, CPUC communication director, said.
The event then concluded successfully, inspiring everyone with a stronger, more unified, and effective approach to media ministry.
