Central Cebu District Association of Churches held its 4th Fellowship on August 16, 2025. Hosted by Binaliw Seventh-Day Adventist Church at the Banilad Barangay Gym, Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu, the event witnessed the participation of members from churches across the Central Cebu District.
The day began with a special Sabbath School program, where participants delved into the quarter’s lesson focused on the life of Moses. The lesson emphasized themes of humility, obedience, and God’s power to use even the most unlikely individuals for extraordinary missions.
All churches under the district participated in the program, each presenting creative and artistic interpretations through music and performance.
The presentations followed the chronological sequence of Moses’ life from his birth and rescue in the Nile, his years in Pharaoh’s palace, his calling through the burning bush, the exodus from Egypt, and ultimately, his leadership of God’s people in the wilderness.
The performances were not only artistic but also deeply spiritual, helping attendees reflect on the personal and collective lessons from Moses’ journey.
Pastor Jemwin Collegado, CCDAC district pastor, underscored lessons of humility, courage, and total dependence on God during his lesson summary discussion. He encouraged attendees to see themselves as modern-day Moseses, called to serve with purpose and persistence.
Following the Sabbath school lesson discussion, the program featured church presentations acknowledging the various ministries within the district, including hospital ministry, jail ministry, and other community activities. Led by Mr. Ranel Hijapon, CCDAC president, and Pastor Jemwin Collegado, CCDAC district pastor, these presentations appealed for continued district-wide support to sustain these vital programs until Jesus comes. This segment was preceded by an impressive ‘Entrance of Colors’ performed by the CCDAC Master Guide Club, adding a solemn touch to the occasion.
During the Divine Worship, the message centered powerfully on the event’s theme. Pastor Charles Nogra, guest speaker and president of the Central Visayan Conference, delivered an inspiring sermon that emphasized the importance of unity in fulfilling the mission of the church. Drawing from both scripture and real-life experiences, Pastor Nogra challenged attendees to work together in love, purpose, and service, reminding them that the mission of God thrives when the body of Christ moves as one.
The Sabbath afternoon continued with a vibrant musical presentation organized by Adventist Youth Fellowship (AYF) program leaders. The presentation featured talented singers and musical groups from various churches across the district, each offering music that uplifted and inspired.
Pastor Kim Felias, the church pastor of the Chinese-Filipino SDA Church, delivered a special message emphasizing the vital role of young people in the mission of the church.
He called on the youth to remain united and actively involved in spreading the gospel, saying, “The future of the church is in your hands. Your unity and involvement in the mission today will shape the church of tomorrow.”
In closing the event, Hijapon expressed how overwhelmed he was by the turnout, the enthusiastic participation, and the positive feedback from attendees. “I’m deeply grateful for how this fellowship truly achieved its goal, bringing churches together in unity and engagement. One mission, one goal: to be with the Lord in His soon return.”
With hearts renewed and spirits lifted, the Central Cebu District left the gathering more united than ever, determined to continue the mission together.
