Capitol Center Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated its 67th Founding Anniversary with a week-long observance from August 16 to 24, 2025.

The celebration featured a variety of spiritual, medical, and community-oriented activities under the theme “From Here to Forever.” This theme reflects the church’s commitment to advancing God’s work in today’s world, emphasizing revival, service, and love for others.

The week began with a blood donation drive, showcasing compassion and service aligned with Christ’s teachings. Following this, seven nights of revival and evangelistic meetings took place, led by Pastor Edgar Bojos, the church pastor. This event was held at the church and streamed live on the church’s official social media account.

Each evening, Pastor Bojos highlighted messages and lessons from the lives of biblical figures, focusing on perseverance, obedience, humility, and God’s transformative grace.

On the first night, he discussed the life of Noah, emphasizing the valuable legacy he left behind—a life that pleased God. He stated, “In the midst of a world filled with sin, corruption, and violence, Enoch stood out like a brighter star in a dark sky; he was the first man the Scripture described as ‘walking with God.'”

The gospel series concluded on August 23, with two individuals accepting Jesus Christ through baptism.

On Sabbath morning, Pastor Harold Hallasgo, the youth director for the Central Visayan Conference (CVC), served as the Sabbath School speaker. He delivered a message encouraging attendees to deepen their faith and nurture future generations, drawing examples from the perseverance of the reformers who faced disappointment when Jesus did not come as expected.

In the afternoon, the church dedicated a long-awaited project—a newly renovated children’s room. Pastor Isaias Guisando, CVC education director, officiated the dedication, stressing the importance of creating environments that foster spiritual growth for children.

The program continued with a commissioning ceremony for approximately 60 Senior Youth Leaders (SYLs), attended by church officials, elders, and youth delegates from surrounding churches.

During the ceremony, Pastor Von John Sanchez, CPUC youth director, reminded attendees of their commitment to youth ministry and the importance of empowering the church’s younger members.

On the final day of the celebration, a Sunday, the church organized a medical mission, offering free medical check-ups, medications, blood typing, glucose tests, and minor surgeries performed by Dr. Nic Duarte Jr.

One participant expressed gratitude for receiving a long-awaited mole removal procedure, saying, “I’m so thankful that I am one of the minor surgical service recipients, treated by a surgeon whose years of expertise I can trust.”

At the same time, Dr. Evange Mendoza and her team provided a cooking demonstration on preparing healthful vegetarian meals, promoting holistic health in line with Adventist principles. Additionally, lectures were held on healthy living and the diseases associated with unhealthy food choices and lifestyles.

The event concluded with a feeding program and the distribution of books titled “The Great Controversy,” reinforcing the church’s outreach efforts.

Overall, the celebration was deemed a success, showcasing the church’s commitment to spreading the Gospel through evangelistic activities and community services. As the Capitol Center SDA Church looks to the future, it remains inspired by the words of the Apostle Paul, affirming its dedication to continuing God’s work in the community.
