Guadalupe Seventh-day Adventist Church, in partnership with the Capitol Center Masterguides Batch Sidlak and various volunteer organizations, provided essential support to the victims of the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Northern Cebu on Sept. 30, 2025.
To further extend their mission of service, the church collaborated with Gilead Cares, a team of medical ministry advocates, and conducted a free medical mission at Guadalupe Covered Court in Guadalupe, Bogo City.
The team also partnered with the 53rd Engineer Brigade of the Philippine Army. The latter escorted the team to Northern Cebu, transporting relief aid and medical equipment in the vehicle they provided.
A total of 675 people accessed the available services. Among them, 185 sought medical consultations, while 72 children received the necessary care. Seventy-six individuals utilized dental care, and 124 underwent vision assessments.
Moreover, 60 people availed Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests, and 98 participated in blood typing to monitor their health. Although fewer individuals sought minor surgeries and circumcisions, there were 4 minor surgeries and 9 circumcisions performed. Lastly, 47 individuals benefited from massage therapy.
Furthermore, through the combined efforts of the master guides, Adventist youth, volunteers, uniformed personnel, and generous benefactors, the team distributed much-needed essentials such as rice, drinking water, canned goods, hygiene kits, tarpaulins for temporary shelters, tents, and even food for dogs, ensuring that both people and their companion animals received care in this time of hardship.
John Dano, Gilead Cares leader, said, “I’d like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, donors, volunteers, and the Philippine Army, whose unwavering support made this mission possible. Your collective efforts brought comfort, healing, and hope to many families in need.”
