San Miguel Adventist Church, one of the churches across the East Visayan Conference, successfully conducted its first-ever Master Guide Basic Staff Training Course. It culminated in the induction of 14 dedicated young individuals from April 17 to 19, 2025.

Master Guides Marco Sapasip (Club Director), Mara Rodriguez, and District Pastor Roland Rodriguez facilitated the three-day event.

This three-day training marked a significant milestone in the church’s youth ministry, bringing together enthusiastic participants for a weekend focused on spiritual enrichment, leadership development, and hands-on service.

The training featured Master Guide Chelrose Tapaya as the guest speaker. She hails from Naval, Biliran, Leyte, and her thought-provoking sessions emphasized the principles of servant leadership and Christlike character. She reminded the trainees that true leadership transcends titles, emphasizing humility, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to discipleship.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in a dynamic program that included inspirational lectures, leadership workshops, outdoor activities, and community outreach projects. These experiences deepened their spiritual journeys and equipped them with essential Master Guide principles, preparing them to mentor and inspire others with conviction and purpose.

In a moving address, MG Mara Rodriguez encouraged the aspiring master guides to persevere through each phase of their journey. She urged them to resist discouragement and remain steadfast until the completion of the investiture. Quoting Ellen G. White, she stated, “You cannot teach what you do not know, and you cannot lead where you will not go,” highlighting the importance of authenticity and exemplifying leadership.

With their induction complete, the 14 newly commissioned young leaders are now ready to take on greater roles within their communities. They are now committed to leading and serving with integrity, faith, and a spirit of servant leadership.
