Adventist Academy Cebu, March 21, 2025 – Adventist Academy Cebu Elementary School held its eagerly awaited camp-in event, embracing the theme, “Jesus Camp With You,” at the school’s elementary grounds on March 20–21, 2025.
The camp was a fun-filled and spiritually enriching experience, bringing together young minds and guiding them to build lasting values and trust in Jesus.
The event was attended by members of the Adventurer Club, including Kinder 1 and 2 students, as well as students in Grades 1 to 3. Parents of the pupils and faculty from the AAC Elementary Department also came out to show their support, making it a true community event.
The event engaged in activities that foster growth and learning. It features a variety of exciting activities designed to instill both life skills and spiritual growth.
The experience included several highlights that fostered personal and group development. Cooking activities encouraged teamwork and responsibility among participants, while tent pitching taught valuable lessons in perseverance and adaptability. Preaching sessions nurtured spiritual growth and faith, and singing sessions provided opportunities for worship and praise.
In addition, the science fairs stimulated curiosity and exploration, and water activities, including splashing with water from fire trucks, brought joy and laughter to all the campers.
The activities created unforgettable memories while reinforcing essential values such as cooperation, responsibility, and trust in God. Despite the rain and the declaration of no classes, the camp was a resounding success, as noted by Maam Relyn Mindalano, the Adventurer Club director.
“Our kids enjoyed a fun-filled experience, learning valuable life skills through various activities. Most importantly, they experienced spiritual growth and learned to trust in Jesus,” she said.
One of the camp’s most memorable moments was bonfire night. Mr. Roy Tac-an, a school faculty member, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing that “Camping Teaches Us Faith.”
He explained that the camp wasn’t just about fun and games, but about learning to trust Jesus in every situation. He reminded everyone that “Jesus is Our Best Camping Companion”, guiding and protecting us in all circumstances.
Sir Van Paman, another faculty member at AAC, also reflected on the theme “Jesus Camp With Us,” sharing that it was an exciting way for children to learn more about Jesus. “The children made new friends, sang songs, participated in activities, and prayed together in a meaningful way. It truly brought them closer to God,” he stated.
The camp concluded with an inspiring message from Pastor Romer Ando, who shared practical tips on how to keep Jesus close every day. His advice included engaging in morning devotions, prayer, Bible reading, and being kind in service to others.
As the camp ended on Friday noon, the young campers departed with treasured memories and a renewed sense of faith that will stay with them for years to come. The event not only fostered joy and community but also strengthened the campers’ connection to their faith in Jesus, reminding them that He is always with them — every step of the way.
Adventist Academy Cebu Elementary Department continues to provide a nurturing environment where children grow in their spiritual and personal development, preparing them to carry forward the lessons learned during their memorable camp-in experience.
