In celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Sending Missionaries, the Batad Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Northern Iloilo V District of the West Visayan Conference conducted its launching in their church on Sept. 14, 2024.
“We have prepared 150 Great Controversy books with attached Voice of Prophecy lessons to be distributed to target recipients as identified last church board meeting,” Elder Alberto Seposo, the church’s head elder, said.
The church board met on the second week of September to prepare for this activity. Together with the brethren from Batad, they would visit the neighborhood, particularly the Batad Central School community, for an outreach program.
In a Sept. 2 circular, WVC leaders encouraged all churches and institutions under its banner to hold special programs highlighting the number “150” to commemorate and emphasize the 150th Anniversary of Sending Missionaries. Those activities, which can include a parade, tree planting, feeding program, or blood donation, are to take place from Sept. 15-21.
As WVC is also known as the “Home of the Missionaries,” this endeavor aims to not only honor missionaries for their courage, commitment, and the countless lives transformed through their ministry but, more importantly, to give all glory and honor to God for working in every way possible to save every person He can.
