The Adventist-laymen’s Services & Industries (ASI) and Adventist Professionals (Ad Pro) of the Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC) successfully carried out the second phase of their humanitarian mission, “Operation Tulong,” in Bogo City, northern Cebu, on Nov. 1, 2025.
The mission provided much-needed financial assistance to families whose homes were severely damaged by the magnitude 7.9 earthquake that struck the area on Sept. 30, 2025.
Financial Aid Reaches 47 Families
A total of 47 recipient families whose houses incurred significant damage were given 7,950.00 pesos each in financial aid. This second wave of relief followed a successful initial mission to typhoon victims in Masbate on Oct. 26, 2025, continuing the group’s commitment to “Sharing Love and Compassion for the Typhoon and Earthquake Victims.”
Furthermore, ASI-Ad Pro has allocated funds for typhoon victims in the East Visayan Conference and the Samar Mission of the Seventh-Day Adventists, with each organization receiving P120,000.
Pastor Berdandino Maniego, ASI-Ad Pro coordinator and CPUC communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty director, said, “Thank you so much for being the hand, feet, mouth, and above all, the heart of Jesus to show kindness and compassion in this trying times. May God bless you all.”
A church member shared how they wished to help those whose houses were completely destroyed after the 7.9-magnitude earthquake shook Bogo City. However, the destruction was just too extensive, leaving many devastated.
“But thanks to ASI-Ad Pro. Their financial assistance is already a big help,” she said.
Leadership and Collaboration
The mission was led by the officers of the CPUC ASI-Ad Pro organizations, such as Mayor Norman Sabdao, president of CPUC Ad Pro, and Engr. Conrado Avila Jr., vice-president-elect of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.
Several key leaders also participated in the relief effort, such as Pastor Lelord Aranguez, ASI-Ad-Pro coordinator, and the communication and PARL director for the Central Visayan Conference.
Other local conference leaders who played huge roles included Dr. Evangeline Geraldez, CVC ASI president; Dr. Warlito Caro, CVC Ad Pro president, and Dr. Lobitania, Bogo District president.
This ongoing “Operation Tulong” effort was initiated following the devastating earthquake in Northern Cebu, with advocates quickly raising over a million pesos for the charity, enabling timely support for affected communities like Bogo City.
