In preparation for the upcoming Moral Recovery Program through Happy Family and Hope Seminar, the Central Cebu District Association of Churches (CCDAC), in partnership with Gilead Cares, successfully conducted a medical mission on Sept. 28, 2025, at the Banilad Multipurpose Gymnasium in Mandaue City.

The event was sponsored by the District and the Women’s Department, demonstrating a strong commitment to holistic ministry and community service.

The medical mission, which drew large numbers of people from Banilad and neighboring areas, offered a wide range of health services, including general consultations, dental, optical services, and vital screenings.

The mission provided services to a total of 434 patients, including 100 who received medical consultations, 110 who received dental care, and 65 individuals who benefited from optical services. Additionally, 71 patients had their Random Blood Sugar (RBS) levels checked, 48 people underwent blood typing screening, and 40 availed themselves of a free therapeutic massage service.

Local healthcare professionals, including doctors, dentists, optometrists, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians, volunteered their time to make the mission a success. In addition to medical consultations, the mission provided free medications, eyeglasses, dental treatments, and support for blood sugar management.

The medical mission exemplifies our dedication to serving the whole person, body, mind, and spirit,” said Ranel Hijapon, CCDAC president. “It’s our way of showing God’s love in practical and meaningful ways.”

Beyond the physical care provided, volunteers also engaged with patients through prayer, counseling, and emotional support, reinforcing the mission’s holistic vision.

Local barangay officials and community leaders expressed their gratitude for the event. Hon. Greg Yap, barangay captain of Banilad, remarked, “This mission has been a tremendous blessing to our community.

The partnership with Gilead Cares, a faith-based health advocacy group, also played a key role in the mission’s success, providing additional medical resources and volunteers. The collaborative efforts of CCDAC, the Women’s Department, and Gilead Cares highlight the power of unified ministry and community partnership.

As the medical mission wrapped up successfully, excitement grew for the upcoming Moral Recovery Program through the Happy Family and Hope Seminar, scheduled to take place from September 29 to October 4, 2025.

The nightly series aims to strengthen family relationships, promote moral values, and offer spiritual renewal to the people of Central Cebu District.
