Consolacion, Cebu – May 22, 2025 — The Life Enrichment and Bible Prophecy Seminar, held at Orosia Foodpark in Consolacion, Cebu, successfully motivated individuals.
Held from May 18 to 23, 2025, the seminar was organized and funded by the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) and Adventist Professionals of the North Central Cebu District Association of Churches (NCCDAC), bringing together more than 40 professionals from Consolacion, Mandaue, Compostela, and Liloan.
Each session began with informative health talks presented by speakers from Adventist Hospital Cebu, followed by inspiring messages on Bible prophecy from the keynote speaker, Pastor Jomar R. Compuesto.
Pastor Compuesto currently serves as the field secretary of the Central Visayan Conference for the Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle/Nurturing, Discipleship, and Retention (IEL-NDR).
Pastor Jomar R. Compuesto’s messages throughout the seminar consistently centered on God’s profound love for humanity, revealed through the Bible as His “love letter” and His plan of salvation through Jesus.
He presented the Ten Commandments as “guardrails to grace” designed for protection and positive living. He also highlighted the Seventh-day Sabbath as a divine gift for rest and worship, signifying that humanity was “created for something better.”
Furthermore, he offered “hope beyond the grave,” reassuring attendees about the resurrection of the deceased, and concluded by stressing the importance of “a life consecrated to God” through complete surrender to Christ and baptism.
On the other hand, the health presentations delivered by various professionals provided practical guidance for holistic well-being.
Dr. Jemer Compuesto emphasized the broad benefits of regular exercise for mental, emotional, and spiritual health. The next night, Mrs. Maejoy M. Beltran, PT, offered helpful tips for managing back pain, underscoring the spine’s role as a vital support system.
“Your spine is your support system; your life experiences depend on how you take care of your spine,” Beltran said as she elaborated on her topic.
Ms. Queenie Joy R. Echavez, RN, addressed the “dangerous effects of social media addiction,” advocating for active disengagement to foster real-life connections.
“We’ve become prisoners to the scroll. While it may be easier to log off, it’s crucial to actively disengage to reconnect with life and God,” Echavez stated, emphasizing how we often spend more time on social media than with God.
Dr. Rodivick O. Docor, a dentist, highlighted the importance of oral hygiene for overall health, and Dr. April Dawn R. Lucero, a lifestyle medicine specialist, conveyed that “your fate is on your plate,” encouraging the consumption of life-sustaining foods for quality and longevity.
Furthermore, Dr. Michelle F. Napigkit, an internist and pulmonologist, tackled “The Dark Secret of Vaping.” She exposed common misconceptions about vaping, emphasizing that many believe it to be a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, but it poses serious health risks, especially to the lungs and heart.
“It hides behind fruity flavors and flashy packaging, but its long-term effects are destructive,” she warned. Her talk raised awareness among the participants, especially the teachers in attendance, who were inspired to help educate their students about the dangers of vaping.
The event culminated on May 24, 2025, with the baptism of two individuals. Pastor Ceriaco Valencia, the district Pastor of the North Central Cebu District Association of Churches, officiated the baptism.
For the attendees, including the leaders and members of NCCDAC, the Life Enrichment and Bible Prophecy Seminar was more than just a week of lectures; it became a transformative journey of healing and hope.
Participants enjoyed practical knowledge for healthier living and a deeper connection with God.
