Bacolod City, Negros Occidental – The Negros Occidental Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced a shift in leadership roles following recent elections.
Pastor Joy Cantela, formerly the conference’s communication director, has been elected as the new executive secretary.
This transition comes as Pastor Brendo Caroz, the previous executive secretary, embarks on a new mission assignment in Papua New Guinea. His appointment is in response to the ‘mission refocus,’ an initiative launched by the Southern Asia-Pacific Division to send missionaries into challenging and unentered areas.
Taking on the mantle of communication director is Pastor Ringo Star Forcado, formerly serving as a church pastor of Bacolod Adventist Church.
Pastor Forcado’s appointment signals a fresh perspective for the conference’s communication initiatives.
On the other hand, Pastor Cantela brings a wealth of experience to his new role as executive secretary, having previously served the conference with dedication in the communication department.
His understanding of the conference’s operations and communication strategies is expected to be a valuable asset in his new responsibilities.
The election of Pastor Forcado as communication director marks an exciting chapter for the department. Serving as a district pastor for eight years and recently as church pastor in Bacolod Adventist Church, his servant leadership has endured years of toil and labor.
The leadership changes reflect the dynamic nature of mission work within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Moreover, the Negros Occidental Conference expressed its gratitude for the service of the outgoing executive secretary. It also welcomed and offered its full support to both Pastor Cantela and Pastor Forcado as they undertake their new roles.
Furthermore, Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo, president of the Central Philippine Union Conference, extended his congratulatory message to these two new leaders.
“I’m praising God for your dedication and hard work in your former roles. And now, I’m looking forward to how He will use you mightily for his work.
The conference looks forward to continued growth and impactful ministry under this new leadership.
