Bulacao, Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines (January 13-18, 2025) -Adventist Academy Cebu, in Bulacao, Talisay City, held a Week of Prayer for its students, faculty, and staff from January 13 to 18. It culminated in the baptism of 30 students who accepted Jesus as their Savior.
With the theme “Are you Ready?” the event brought together elementary, junior high, and senior high school students to refocus their spiritual lives and deepen their connection with God.
Pastor David Gilmore, an international evangelist and leader of the Big Build Project in Australia, guided this week-long spiritual journey. Known for his engaging and heartfelt sermons, Pastor Gilmore captivated the audience with messages centered on preparing for Jesus Christ’s imminent return.
With the aim of refreshing the spiritual growth of the school community, the Week of Prayer served as a meaningful pause from the daily routines of academic life. Each session included praise and worship, inspiring sermons, and reflective moments that encouraged attendees to examine their relationship with God.
The highlight of the event came as 30 individuals publicly declared their faith through baptism. With tears of joy and hearts full of gratitude, students and staff witnessed these souls accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The decisive moment underscored the week’s spiritual readiness and renewal goal.
“Seeing our students and colleagues respond to God’s call fills us with hope and joy,” shared one faculty member. “This week has truly been a blessing, reminding us all of what it means to live with purpose and readiness for Christ’s return.”
As the Week of Prayer concluded, attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to grow spiritually and form a stronger bond with God. The event left a lasting impact, inspiring many to live lives centered on faith, love, and service.
