Pastor Mariano Salloman Jr., the stewardship director of the Central Philippine Union Conference, baptized 38 individuals after the evangelistic campaign he conducted on February 16 to 22, 2025.
This evangelism was part of a larger initiative, the Elders’ Simultaneous Evangelistic Campaigns, which featured four other evangelistic efforts within the Western Aklan District. A few weeks before the event, there were also five other simultaneous evangelistic meetings conducted by care groups.
These efforts were part of the Harvest 2025 initiative, which encourages Total Member Involvement (TMI); this means that every church member, department, leader, and care group must get involved.
Held at Poblacion, Nabas, Aklan, in the Western Aklan District, these health and gospel seminars attracted an estimated 60 to 70 attendees each night.
The messages centered on the theme “Happy Family, Healthy Lifestyle, and Moral Recovery Seminar,” and some topics about health encouraged community engagement and spiritual growth.
Pastor Ricky Villarin, stewardship director of Northwestern Panay Mission, gave health lectures during the event.
In addition to the spiritual activities, Adventist DepEd teachers conducted children’s classes, further promoting a family-friendly atmosphere.
Before these events, two missionaries from the 1000 Missionary Movement, as well as Bible workers and care groups, prepared the ground through home visitations, community outreach programs, and Bible studies.
As a culminating highlight, 38 individuals accepted Jesus. The baptisms took place on two separate days, February 15 and February 22. Pastor Salloman, alongside Pastor Novy Velaño, district pastor of Western Aklan District, conducted the baptism.
Despite the enthusiasm and the blessed outcome, the campaign faced challenges, including bad weather that complicated travel for attendees. However, the evangelistic activities ended successfully after a week, bringing souls to Jesus’ feet.
The successful campaign showed the churches’ ongoing commitment to ministry, as well as the determination of participants to overcome challenges, allowing God’s work to push through.
